Ah, now there's the rub. HPL did live and publish in this world, and much of what he published was accurate. Most of the "straight" world does NOT know this, however...
(For a further idea on how this sort of thing might work, see "The Shadow From the Steeple" or The Illuminatus Trilogy.

Vincent has a STAFF? Are they ...... human?
And they prepared Ghoul "A" cinnamon roll? Now THAT'S special treatment. ^^
I'm imagining the Shoggoth members as ranging in attitude from "Yeah, Servants of the Elder Gods!" to, "Well, the name has 'Goth' in it--that's good, right?" to "Who cares? Let's go bust some heads!". ^^

Yes, he has staff. Yes, they are human. Yes, it was A cinnamon roll... and some bacon, and eggs, and toast... We're seeing the tail end of his meal here.
You are not wrong about the attitudes of the Shoggoths... or just about any gang in the greater Autumn Bay area (adjusted to theme and general temperament). The Unwanted are a bit different, which is part of the reason they get to be featured. :)

Actually I was amused at the concept of the staff baking a single cinnamon roll just for Ghoul, but it's nice to know that he had a nourishing breakfast. :)
In fact, it sounds SO good that Mercy may have to PRY him out of Vincent's house, in spite of all the weird stuff there. ^^

At this point in time, Valkyries was a distant thing. The going Ride at the time was Winners and Losers (and it's companion comic, MSV.
The cross-continuuty between LIR and AB all began when one of our characters (Felicia Kingsley, seen here later in the Prologue to Season 2) was "borrowed" for a scene in LIR Vol. 3: Holding Pattern. A bunch of back-and-forth between creators, and a long-standing shared universe was born.
There are other comics that have crossed over with one or both of ours, as well.

It's also interesting how often food comes up in Autumn Bay.
And for the record, yes, Mercy stopped and got donuts and Spiffee Burger breakfast, only to find that Ghoul was eating a cinnamon roll prepared by Vincent's staff...
Next: Mercy's back on the trail...
