Occasionally, you just need to set the scene. That's what we have here.

I kind of feel for Mack, keeping vigil over Ghoul like this.

My usual problem at night is light getting into my eyes.

The fact that he is resigned, not happy, to let Mercy handle things speaks volumes about their "past".

The glow isn't really noticeable to them.

But yes, there is something very "off", and Pogo knows that Mercy isn't going to show up to hurt people.
