He lost a LOT of weight (like, half), a full foot of height, and, yeah...

One wonders how many middle-aged men might go for it anyway...

Chaos: "Exit stage left! Scotty, beam me up!"

Carter: "Well Cap, you are basically a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle now. Except for the 'turtle' part of course. And the 'mutant' part."
Bishop: "I am a teenage ninja!? I don't get it..."
Carter: "How good is your Spanish?"

Heh...

Yeah, you can spin this into a lot of humor. We'll mostly leave that to you guys and concentrate more on the drama of the situation. :)

I'm guessing Bishop's first real clue that something's really really wrong would be a distinct decrease in what I'd expect would be his usual background noise of constant low-level physical pain.

"Carter! My knees suddenly feel great-oh my GOD!"

That is likely to be an aspect we will cover later. Right now, the main thing going through Bishop's mind is the fact that he sounds and feels very strange. Oh, and Carter Lake, who he is pretty much used to looking in the eye, now towers over him...

This is the sort of thing to leave one speechless for days if not weeks

I know, right? I mean, how do you even process what happened here?

Of course, once the speechless phase has passed, there's the "recurring story" phase, which lasts forever.

"Hey, remember that one time when...?"

You are definitely finding it a lot funnier than Captain Bishop is at this very moment.

There may, at some point, be some humor in Bishop's transformation. That is not the focus, however. We're actually taking a more dramatic look at his/her life going forward.

At any rate, how do you break that news to someone that isn't quite aware of it? :)
