First of all, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for sticking with us. You are all beautiful treasures, and we appreciate you VERY much.

So, where were we? Oh, that's right...

You may remember that Sebastian Mallory was at the tender mercy of Chaos and his associates. Well, here we can see that he at least survived the encounter. And yes, his first call was to the Shroud, since he deals in a lot of mysterious items.

Sebastian is widely traveled, and you can see here that he mentions Gernsbeck University. That, of course, is the setting of the wonderful Cryptida, and comes to us courtesy of Fabian W.

(Seriously, if you aren't already reading Cryptida, do yourself a favor and check it out!)

Now, what do you suppose it does? :)

Check out the Autumn Bay playlist on YouTube!

I am now available for commissions!

Don't forget that you can support Autumn Bay on Patreon and get an exclusive early look at the next update.

Shout outs like this make me grin from ear to ear! :-D Many thanks, Prof!

Atlantean artifacts out of orichalcum seem to get lost a lot these days... Either they get outright stolen, or someone simply sells them off via the internet... ;-D
(BTW, timing-wise once again an astonishing coincidence!)

It's only fair, my friend. :)

Yeah, when I was reading Cryptida earlier, I had to smile... :)

(I don't think this one will get sold on the internet... probably...)

GOOD THING HE KEPT IT IN HIS SAFE

Yeah, that's a hell of a coincidence. Lots of archaic objects getting stolen these days--I blame ISIS.

@ Chippewa Ghost: If it's an irreplaceable treasure of antiquity, ISIS destroys it....

Other than that, they are a pretty handy scapegoat. :)

@Delta: If it can't be stolen or sold on the black market, then yes, they'll eliminate it. Otherwise, they're as unsurprisingly pragmatic as any other band of thugs.

@ Delta: I suppose they do work as a scapegoat, don't they?

@ CG: You say coincidence, I say fate.

Also, I would think it's Putin's people or something...

Is orichalcum similar in structure to unobtainium, or is it more like plotdeviceium?

"Gernsbeck" rings a bell, but under a slightly different spelling.

Nah, it's got a better pedigree than either of those...

I would have to ask Fabian about his influence, but the slightly different spelling is a good possibility, all things considered.

@ Delta-v: If you are thinking about this guy, you are indeed on the right track!
I just changed the spelling in order for it to work as a German place name. (An alternative option would have been changing it to Gernsbach - but that turned out to actually be a real place.)
