Good to know that Benny is now in good hands!
And fictional billionaire philanthropists are usually middle-aged men (like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne), so a young woman in this role is an interesting variation on this theme. (Though I have no idea if Marie-Ange would ever consider going out super-heroing.)

It's something about the great state of New York in general. But yeah, there is a LOT of baggage in AB. And someone seems to be opening a luggage store these days. :P
Thanks! It's totally based on references, but I figured it was best to go ahead and show the hospital. (Spoiler: this isn't the last time we'll be here...)

Hi, Marie-Ange! I remember her from the first AB comic. Good to see her back, even though she kind of stretches out the "angel" metaphor past its intended meaning in the final caption. (Which seems in-character, since people generally don't reflect on their conversational metaphors while saying them)

I appreciate that it shows.
What really happened is that I (and it was just me, no Soph) went off half-cocked in the first iteration. Marie-Ange and Andrew came off a lot more shallow than was proper for them (especially given that they have some of the longest track records among all the characters). That combined with some other missteps (going all willy-nilly with crossovers, for example, and having the silliness that was Marie-Ange and Andrew's "adventure" at the same time as some of the more serious moments concerning the team, and some planted misconceptions about certain entities) precipitated a serious "come to Jesus" meeting with Soph (who has been there for most of the previous development in the tabletop roleplaying and story creation previous to the pre-boot version), and the decision to reboot.
Marie-Ange and Andrew will have their time in the sun, make no mistake. We just felt that they need some development before that time comes. (Also, the "right" part of the story needs to come along, and it will).
Dang... looks like I could write a book about intentions, delivery, and mistakes... :P

A little backstory: Marie-Ange is extremely wealthy. Her family owns Lebeau Shipping, which has been going since the early 19th century.
She puts that money and her time to good use. She volunteers at a soup kitchen, donates food and money, and occasionally takes really good care of those less fortunate.
Especially Benny. She knows he's important, if not why, because of Pogo. Hence, when she got word that he had been attacked, she made sure he got excellent medical attention.
