Oh geez... I hadn't thought about that...
Though, to be fair, he might be able to get away with it. They actually go way back (they served at one point in Iraq together).

Me - Yay this priest type has so many cool spells-
Rest of the party - oh no no no we need you for cure light wounds and cure medium wounds spells!
Me - sigh okay then, I drop the combat spells and just engage in regular fighting..
*fights mediocrely and maybe gets one monster killed while everyone else at least five each.
Hooray.
