Thank you, and I do appreciate that a lot of the art in horror is balancing how much you reveal versus how little. People's imaginations often do a better job of scaring them if you tap near some of their fears than a fully realized creation would in many cases, and the unknown is scary by itself.

I am, in some ways, a classicist. Monsters are meant to be shown in bits, a bullet to the head is best shown in silhouette, and a shadow on a wall is menacing. I cant always pull these tricks off, but I take 'em when I can.
I can appreciate the full reveal and the spatter of claret as a choice.
When you see the fullness of a being like Nestor, it is because they are no longer scary for whatever reason.

In coding and a lot of technology there's often nothing wrong with using proven solutions, provided they're properly tested and updated to handle new hazards, conditions and environments. Comparably, in fiction, an awful lot of people enjoy the familiarity of repetition. I appreciate the fact that the staged reveal in horror does often work just as you say, but I'm disappointed you don't find in that a reason to rebel against the tedious predictability. If nothing else will move you on this point, the unexpected is key in horror you know. You can't achieve that doing script by numbers.

I do hope we see more of Nestor's true form. Perhaps it's supposed to work better in the imagination, what with being an Elder God-type who can't be comprehended by a sane human mind, but the maggoty profile we see in the first panel is sufficiently tantalizing in the most chilling ways.

I just arrived here from 'Datachasers', liked what I saw, binged the archives and am up to speed. I really enjoy the Lovecraft and Derleth elements of Magic and the Arcane woven into the plotline. I'm looking forward to future episodes and best of luck with this strip.

Speaking of Nestor's true form, it looks like Dr. Sandros couldn't handle it. Something about going mad from the revelation.
Also, I'd be super happy if you guys checked out today's Data Chasers. I did guest art duties on it! :D
